Terms of use

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Please read these Terms of Use carefully. They are a binding agreement between you and Netify Global Ltd. They explain what you can expect from One Million Community, what we expect from you, and where our responsibility starts and stops. Some parts limit our liability — they are in sections 5, 15, 16 and 17.

1. Who we are and what this agreement covers

One Million Community (the “Service”) is an online introduction service for adults who are looking for a spouse or a serious, marriage-minded relationship. It is operated by Netify Global Ltd, a company registered in Kenya, with its registered office at Westpark Tower, 5th Floor, Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya (“we”, “us” or “our”).

The Service includes our website at one-million-community.com, our mobile web app at one-million-community.com/m/, and any related features, notifications and emails. These Terms apply together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Community Guidelines & Safety Tips and Membership, Payments & Refunds Policy, all of which form part of this agreement.

By creating an account, or by using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use the Service

To create or keep an account you confirm that:

  • you are an individual and are at least 18 years old, and you are legally able to enter a contract;
  • you are looking for a spouse or a serious relationship for yourself, and you are free to enter into that relationship — you will not misrepresent your marital status, and you will not use the Service while hiding a marriage or relationship from the people you contact;
  • you have not been convicted of, or are not currently charged with, a sexual offence, an offence involving violence, stalking, trafficking or child abuse, and you are not required to register as a sex offender in any country;
  • you have not previously been removed from the Service, unless we have agreed in writing that you may return;
  • you hold only one account, and the information you give us (including your name, age, gender, photos, location and contact details) is true, accurate and kept up to date; and
  • using the Service is not prohibited by any law that applies to you.

If you stop meeting any of these conditions, your right to use the Service ends automatically and you must stop using it. If we find that someone is under 18, we will close the account and delete the information we hold about them.

3. Your account

  • You must verify your email address and, where we ask, your mobile phone number. We may also ask you for a selfie, photo or other check to confirm that you are the person in your profile.
  • Keep your password confidential and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account until you tell us it has been compromised. Contact us immediately if you suspect misuse.
  • You may delete your account at any time from the settings in the app or by contacting us. Deleting your account does not by itself entitle you to a refund (see the Membership, Payments & Refunds Policy).

4. What the Service is — and is not

We provide a platform that lets adults find and communicate with one another. We suggest and display profiles using the details members give us, such as age, location and preferences. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, a partner or a spouse, that any member will reply to you, or that any relationship will result from using the Service. We are not a marriage broker, matchmaker, counsellor, agency or lawyer, and we do not take part in any relationship or marriage that members form.

Some or all features of the Service require an active paid membership. A free account lets you register and complete your profile; the rest of the Service may be unavailable until you have an active membership. What is included in each membership is shown on the subscription screen at the time you buy.

We may change, add, suspend or remove features at any time, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, faults or events outside our control.

5. Meeting people safely — you are responsible for your own safety

Meeting people online carries real risks, including dishonesty, fraud and physical danger. Please read our Community Guidelines & Safety Tips. In particular:

  • We do not carry out criminal-record, background, marital-status or identity checks on members. Our email, phone, photo and other verification steps are limited and are done on a reasonable-efforts basis. They do not confirm who a person really is, whether what they say is true, or that they are safe, and they must not be treated as a guarantee.
  • We cannot control, and are not responsible for, what members say or do, whether on the Service or in person, including before, during or after any meeting.
  • You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, for deciding whether to share information, send money or meet someone, and for the precautions you take.
  • Never send money, or share bank, mobile-money, card or password details, with someone you have met through the Service — however convincing the reason may seem. Report anyone who asks.
  • If you are in danger, contact the police or emergency services (in Kenya, 999 or 112) first, and then tell us.

6. Rules of conduct

You must treat other members with respect and follow the law. You must not:

  • impersonate anyone, use a false identity or use photos that are not of you;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, bully, shame or pressure other members, or send unsolicited sexual or abusive content;
  • ask other members for money, gifts or financial help, promote an investment, scheme or sale, or run any scam (including romance scams);
  • post or send content that is unlawful, obscene, pornographic, defamatory, discriminatory or that promotes hatred, violence or contempt on the basis of ethnicity, tribe, race, religion or gender;
  • post images of children, or images of other people without their consent, or sexually explicit or intimate images of anyone;
  • use the Service while married or in a relationship in a way that deceives other members about your status;
  • advertise, solicit clients or offer sexual or escort services, or use the Service for any commercial purpose;
  • collect, copy, scrape or publish other members’ details, or use them for any purpose other than getting to know them through the Service;
  • share another person’s private information (including their messages, phone number, address or photos) without their permission;
  • use bots, scripts or automated tools, interfere with the Service or its security, try to access accounts or data that are not yours, or upload viruses or harmful code;
  • create fake accounts, create a new account to avoid a suspension, or file reports you know to be false; or
  • break any law, or help or encourage anyone else to do so.

7. Content you post

“Your Content” means everything you post or send through the Service, including your profile, photos, answers, messages, comments, forum posts and group or event posts.

  • You own Your Content, but you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example resize or crop), and distribute it as needed to run, protect, improve and promote the Service. Photos and profile details you place on your profile will be visible to other members and, depending on your privacy settings, to visitors. When you delete Your Content or your account, this licence ends, except for copies that must be kept for legal reasons, held in backups for a short time, or already shared with others.
  • You are responsible for Your Content. You promise that you have the right to post it and that it follows these Terms and the law. We cannot check everything that is posted and we do not endorse any content or any member.
  • Private messages are not read routinely. We may review messages and other content where it has been reported, where we suspect a breach of these Terms or a crime, to prevent fraud or harm, or where the law requires.
  • Photos and profile content may be reviewed (by people or automated tools) and we may refuse, hide or remove anything at our discretion. We are not required to store Your Content and you should keep your own copies.

8. Personal details that are sensitive

Some profile questions — such as marital status, religion, tribe or ethnic background, and family details — are sensitive. They are optional unless the sign-up form says otherwise. By answering them you ask us to show them on your profile as you choose, and you agree to our processing of them as explained in the Privacy Policy. You must not use another member’s sensitive information to discriminate against, mock, expose or harm them.

9. Membership, payments and refunds

Memberships are sold for fixed periods and are paid in Kenya Shillings (KES) through our payment partner. The price, the period, and what is included are shown before you pay. Prices do not include transaction fees charged by Paystack or your mobile-money provider, card issuer or bank, which are shown on the payment screen before you confirm. Full details — including renewals, cancellation and refunds — are in the Membership, Payments & Refunds Policy. Except where that policy or the law says otherwise, payments are not refundable.

10. Messages and notifications

We will send you emails, SMS and push notifications that are needed to run your account, such as verification codes, security alerts, receipts and notices of new messages or activity. To protect member privacy, these notifications do not show the text of private messages. You can manage most notifications in your settings or device. Marketing messages are only sent where you have agreed, and you can opt out at any time.

11. Suspension and termination

We may warn you, remove content, restrict features, suspend or permanently close your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the law, put a member at risk, harmed the Service or our reputation, or if we are required to do so by law or by a regulator. We may also report suspected crimes to the police or other authorities. If we close your account for breaking these Terms you are not entitled to a refund of any unused membership. You may ask us to review a decision by contacting us within 30 days.

You can stop using the Service at any time. When your account ends, your right to use the Service ends, but terms that by their nature should continue (for example sections 5, 7, 14–19) will continue to apply.

12. Our intellectual property and copyright complaints

The Service, including its software, design, text, logos and name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service as intended. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or exploit it.

If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, send us a notice using the contact details in section 21 with: your name and contact details; a description of the work; the exact location (link) of the material; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised; and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act. We will act on valid notices and may remove material and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

13. Third-party services and links

The Service uses services supplied by others, such as payment processors, mapping, messaging, email and SMS providers. Their services are governed by their own terms and we are not responsible for them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and do not mean we endorse them.

14. No warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, that members’ profiles or statements are true or accurate, that any member is who they claim to be, or that the Service will meet your expectations. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, online or offline. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under Kenyan law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limit on our liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, opportunity, goodwill, data, or for emotional distress, arising from your use of the Service or from the conduct of any member or third party;
  • we are not liable for any loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or network failures, attacks on our systems that we could not reasonably have prevented, or acts of third-party service providers; and
  • our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or connected with the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) KES 10,000.

16. Disputes between members

You are solely responsible for your dealings with other members. If you have a dispute with another member, you release us (and our directors, employees, contractors and affiliates) from claims, demands and damages of every kind, known or unknown, that arise out of or are connected to that dispute — except where the law does not allow such a release. We may, but are not obliged to, step in to help resolve a dispute.

17. Indemnity

To the extent the law permits, you agree to defend and compensate us, our directors, employees and contractors against claims, losses, damages, fines and reasonable legal costs that arise from your breach of these Terms, Your Content, your use of the Service, or your dealings with other members or third parties.

18. Governing law and resolving problems

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If you have a complaint, please contact us first (see section 21). We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days; you agree to give us that opportunity before starting court proceedings, unless an urgent remedy is needed. If we cannot resolve it, the courts of Kenya will have jurisdiction, and we agree to consider mediation if you ask. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer under Kenyan law, including your right to go to court and to complain to the Data Commissioner about personal data matters.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our practices. If a change is important we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the effective date you accept the new Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

20. General

  • Whole agreement. These Terms and the policies they refer to are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If part is invalid. If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we may still do so later.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your rights to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business or to a group company on notice to you.
  • Notices. We may notify you by email, in the app, or by posting on the Service. You may notify us using the contact details below.
  • Language. The English version of these Terms prevails over any translation.
  • Events outside our control. We are not in breach if we are delayed or prevented from performing by events outside our reasonable control.
