About the community

What is One Million Community?

One Million Community is an online community for adults in Kenya who want a spouse and a lasting relationship, not casual dating. Members create a profile, say what they are looking for, meet through search, suggestions, groups and the forum, and talk privately once they have a membership.

Who is it for?

It is for single adults aged 18 and over who are serious about marriage or a committed, long-term relationship. Many members care about faith, family and shared values, and we have groups such as the Faith and Values Circle and Marriage Preparation for those conversations. You decide how much of your faith, family and background to share on your profile.

Do I have to be a Christian to join?

No. You are asked to respect the community’s purpose and our Community Guidelines. Faith is one of the things you can state on your profile and search by, so you can look for people who share yours.

Is it a website or an app?

Both. You use it in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store.

Which countries can I join from?

Registration currently uses a Kenyan mobile number for phone verification, so the community is aimed at people in Kenya.

Joining and your profile

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are removed.

What do I need to sign up?

An email address, a mobile phone number, a clear photo of yourself and answers to a short set of profile questions. We send a code to your phone and to your email to confirm both. See how it works for the full steps.

Why do you need a photo?

Real faces build trust and make it harder for fake profiles to blend in. Photos are checked by our moderators, and photos that are not of you or that break our rules are removed.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account in the app settings. What happens to your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Membership and payment

Why is a paid membership needed?

A membership keeps the community for people who are serious about being here. Private messaging is available to paying members, which discourages the throwaway accounts that scammers and time-wasters rely on.

How much does it cost?

At the time of writing, the VIP membership is KES 1,100 for one month. The current price is always shown on the subscribe screen before you pay. The price does not include transaction fees charged by Paystack or your mobile-money provider; any fee is shown on the payment screen before you confirm.

How do I pay?

You pay through Paystack, using M-Pesa or a bank card. We never see or store your card number or PIN.

Does my membership renew automatically?

No. A membership runs for the period you paid for and then ends unless you choose to pay again.

Can I get a refund?

No. All payments are final and non-refundable, so please check the price, the period and what is included before you pay. If you are charged twice for the same purchase, or your payment succeeds but your membership is not activated, contact us and we will correct it. The full policy is on our Membership and Refunds page.

Safety and privacy

How do you keep members safe?

We confirm every member’s phone number and email address, moderate profile photos, remove accounts that break our rules, and let you report any member or message. We do not run identity-document or criminal-record checks, so please read our safety and verification guide and take care before sharing personal details or meeting anyone.

Will other people see my phone number or the text of my messages in notifications?

Your phone number is used to verify your account. Notification emails and push notifications tell you that you have a message but do not include the message text.

How do I report a scam or a problem?

Use the Contact Us page and include the member’s username and what happened. Never send money to someone you have not met in person.

Who runs the community?
